YIKES the kittens just keep coming….litters of 3, 5, and 6!  Wow our waiting list is full clear through the summer as these hopeful kittens come of age to go home with you.  Thank goodness they were all born weeks apart from each other so they will be joining us one litter at a time from now through July or so.  

 Tortis, Gray, Black, Charcoal, Silver Tabby, & 7 Orange Tabbies in every shade!  Oh My!   The last litter on our waiting list were born on Mothers’ Day ~ what a special day to remember for that Mama bringing in 6 little ones into this world.    

 We even have 3 orphaned kittens who have a bit of catching up to do to meet their growth potential, but they are as determined as we are to succeed!

CONSIDER PRE-ADOPTING ONE OR TWO OF THESE KITTENS ~ you select the kitten of your choice, complete the adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee in advance.  Your kitten will be kept with it’s littermates until it weighs enough to be spayed/neutered which is usually around 8 – 10 weeks.   You can come and visit as often as you like.  These young ones need this time together to develop with all the advantages on their side.  No exceptions…it’s the law.

JULY ADOPTION EVENTS

FRIDAY & SATURDAY AFTERNOON ADOPTION EVENTS held at the PET HAVEN petstore 352 Florin Rd @ Riverside, Sacramento 95831.  It’s in the Greenhaven area just west of I-5 from either the 43rd Ave or Florin West exits.   Pet Haven is near Taco Bell and behind Walgreens.

SPECIAL ADOPTION DATES:   THURS & FRI  JULY 1 & 2     NOON – 4 PM

                                                                       THURS  JULY  22     2 – 6 pm

OTHER Fridays  from 2 – 6 pm     July 9, 16, 23 & 30

Saturdays from 1 – 4 pm     July 10, 17 & 31    Note: No Event on Sat July 3 or 24

Celebrate Earth Day EVERYDAY ~ SPAY & NEUTER

  •  IF it’s NOT SPAYED/ NEUTERED
  • PLEASE READ THIS

 FEED AND FIX   

  • It’s true you are helping these cats be healthier
  • It’s true these cats are now able to reproduce EVEN MORE homeless litters and spread feline diseases… like Feline Leukemia & FIV
  • It’s also true if you are leaving food outside, you are also feeding the skunks, raccoons, fleas, opossum, rats, etc…who are in turn reproducing more offspring than our community can safely handle. 

  

WHAT TO DO If you feed, you must fix to be a true part of the solution to cat overpopulation.  Trap and alter those homeless and feral cats you are feeding and release them back home.   Feed limited quantities at scheduled times.

NOW IS THE BEST TIME FIX!     IT ISN’T EXPENSIVE, $10 – $30 PER CAT  Kittens 8-10 weeks old and Pregnant or In Heat Females can all be safely altered. 

  

OLIVIA’S STORY:  Olivia was born July 2009.  Mid December 2009 she delivered her 1st litter of 4; March 18 she & her 4 kittens were taken in to be altered.  Olivia was already pregnant again.   FIVE adult males were also caught and neutered along with Olivia and her kittens. 

  

SOPHIE’S STORY:  Sophie was born in November 2009.  March 18, along with Olivia and the other 9, she was taken in to be spayed.  She was pregnant with her 1st litter…. 

  

  •  Do you know that 1 male & 1 female cat and ALL of their offspring can produce 12,000 cats in 5 years?  
  •  Do you know that multiple male cats can impregnate the same female? Ever wonder how a litter can be so many different colors? 
  •  Male cats will wander a mile or more in search of a female cat in heat.
