What We Do
AS OUR PRIMARY FOCUS KittyWits offers a transportation service to the very low cost Animal Spay and Neuter Clinic in Auburn www.animalspayneuter.com . We make a monthly trip or two with a full load ~ sometimes we have 8 up to a “peak load” of 25! This service is offered to anyone who needs a ride for their kitty. With this service we make it as simple for you as possible. We call this our “No Excuse” service by taking away all the excuses people have for NOT spaying or neutering their cats, whether it be cost, fear, knowledge or time. You won’t even need to take time off work to use this cat spay/neuter transportation service! Sorry this service is just for cats ~ feral and domestic.
People often ask where does KittyWits get these cats for adoption. Mainly we get them from people we are working with for spay/neuter or adoption services. Occasionally if room allows, we take them from people in our community who must surrender their cats for various reasons. One fast rule when taking in kittens is that the owner must have the Mama cat spayed and tested…Papa cat too if available. We also insure before adopting a kitten or cat that the other cats in the home are also altered. Our goal is to stop the over-littering, not enable it.
Many of the surrender stories are very heartbreaking and it is impossible to take in cats from everyone who asks. Sometimes we must say I’m sorry, but do offer websites and suggestions on where else to check for possible foster or permanent homes. Suggestions like checking with their vet for rescue people they know or checking online for ideas via www.pethelpcentral.com or googling “cat + rescue + Sacramento CA”.
KittyWits does not take kittens or cats from any shelter.
Due to the shortage of available homes, KittyWits is not taking in any kittens or cats at this time.
